Pelorus
Privacy
Last updated 2026-05-11.
Short version: we collect the minimum we need to make Pelorus work for you. We don’t sell anything, we don’t share with third-party advertisers, and you can ask us to delete your account at any time.
What we collect
- Account info when you sign up: your email (verified), display name, and an opaque ID from your sign-in provider (Google). If you sign up with email-only, just the email.
- Referral code that we generate for you, and (if applicable) the code of the Looper who referred you.
- Aggregate usage: pageviews and CTA clicks recorded without cookies. We see counts (“X visitors clicked ‘Try the demo’ today”), not who. No individual tracking.
- Picker state: your start/end picks and planning date are kept in your browser’s sessionStorage so the page survives navigation. They wipe when you close the tab. They are not sent to us as an identity.
What we use it for
- Letting you sign in and recover your account.
- Crediting your referrals and showing your referral link.
- Very occasional product email — major updates, demo changes, launch news. Unsubscribe in every message.
- Improving the product: which CTAs land, where users get stuck, what to fix next.
What we don’t do
- Sell your data. Not to anyone.
- Run third-party ad trackers. The demo pages have no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no Hotjar.
- Share with partners except when you explicitly ask us to (e.g., redeeming a partner offer).
Where it lives
Account data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL, hosted in the US). Hot caches (rate-limit counters, picker state in your browser) are in Redis. Aggregate metrics live in our self-hosted Prometheus/Grafana stack.
Deleting your account
Email [email protected] and we’ll delete your row and any referral attribution tied to it within 7 days. Aggregate counts (which include pre-deletion events you contributed to) are not separable from other users’ counts and stay.
Changes to this policy
We’ll bump the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, email signed-in users. No silent rewrites.
